How McLanahan Jaw Crushers Work

A Jaw Crusher consists of two crushing surfaces: a stationary jaw and a moving jaw.

Material is introduced through the top of the crushing chamber. As the moving jaw moves toward the stationary jaw, the material is compressed and fractured.

When the moving jaw moves away from the stationary jaw, the crushed material moves downward through the crushing chamber. Once the material reaches a size smaller than the discharge opening, it exits from the bottom of the crusher.

This repeated compression cycle continues as new material enters the crushing chamber.
